The emergence of advanced artificial intelligence has posited fundamental queries about the nature of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. As such, we should examine the relationship between the wisdom presented by great philosophical traditions (exemplified by thinkers like Socrates, Hume, Nietzsche, Rousseau, Descartes, Marx and others) and the cognitive capabilities of modern AI systems. In comparing these distinct approaches to knowledge generation, we can better understand both the limitations and possibilities of AI in philosophical domains, as well as gain fresh appreciation
